Errai Community Site Launched
2009 October 20
Here’s a peak into the new project I am now working on at Red Hat. I am impressed with all the feedback we have received so far, but more is always welcome!

We’ve just launched the Errai community site.
We are launching this community site early in the process to spark interest and engage the open source community.
For one, because we believe in what were doing, and we feel that the project is now at a point where it’s time to branch out and join the greater OSS community and let our hard work finally see the light of day.
So, on behalf of the Errai Team, welcome!

Nice to see what you’ve been up to!
My initial impression is that the site probably needs a different focus if it’s to appeal to a community of developers (which I presume is your intention). It currently reads to me like a marketing campaign to sell me a product, rather than trying to get me involved in developing it. I think making it clear how to get the code, play around with the tool(s) and get involved right on the front page would help (even if that’s just links to other parts of the site). If you remember the wiki page you did for IcedTea, that went straight to the guts of how to download and build. I think something more direct like that would help if you’re intending to target developers rather than corporate end users with this site.
I’d also drop the comma after ‘community’ in your title (which I like very much btw).
Hope that helps, and all the best with the project
Thanks for the input.
Yes, we want to appeal to the community, but since this is JBoss we still need the corporate appeal.
I will pass the msg on though!
