It currently reads to me like a marketing campaign to sell me a product, rather than trying to get me involved in developing it. I think making it clear how to get the code, play around with the tool(s) and get involved right on the front page would help (even if that's just links to other parts of the site). If you remember the wiki page you did for IcedTea, that went straight to the guts of how to download and build. I think something more direct like that would help if you're intending to target developers rather than corporate end users with this site.
